A 3-hour online workshop for the Mentoring and Supervision Network

Did you know that 1 in 7 of us are neurodivergent? But what does that really mean—and how might it show up in our work as practitioners and therapists? Neurodivergent traits can often be overlooked, misunderstood, or misdiagnosed, so it's essential that asSupervisors we learn to recognise the signs and understand how they may impact both our supervisees and their clients and our own approach to practice. This 3-hour online workshop is designed to unpack some of that in a safe, open, and inclusive way, so you can be more confident and inclusive with your patients / clients.

Our workshop provides an introduction to neurodiversity and how to recognise, understand, and work inclusively with neurodiversity where ever it shows up. The aim is to provide essential insights and practical strategies for creating an inclusive practice, and supporting your supervisees to do the same

What will the workshop cover?
- Understanding neurodivergence. You'll receive an overview of common neurodevelopmental conditions including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, & Dyspraxia.
- Learning to recognise neurodivergent traits. You'll learn to identify key characteristics, difficulties, and strengths associated with neurodivergence.
- Encouraging inclusive practice. By learning about common difficulties experienced within the clinic setting you'll gain an understanding of how to recognise and adjust your practice to emphasise the importance of fostering acceptance, strategies for modifying the environment, and examples of reasonable adjustments for your own practice, your supervisees and their clients.

- What’s the difference between Autism, Aspergers, and ADHD?

- Where does trauma fit with neurodiversity? Are they the same thing? Or is it completely different?
