Did you know that 1 in 7 of us are neurodivergent? What does this mean and how might it show up in our clinical work? There are some key factors, and ways that people present that can be mistaken, missed, or misdiagnosed. As practitioners it is essential that we can recognise and understand these and how they might influence our practice. This 3-hour online workshop is designed to unpack some of that in a safe, open, and inclusive way, so you can be more confident and inclusive with your patients / clients.
Workshop details:
An introduction to neurodiversity and how to recognise, understand, and work inclusively with neurodivergent clients. The aim is to provide essential insights and practical strategies for creating an inclusive practice.

An overview of common neurodevelopmental conditions; including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, & Dyspraxia. - To learn to recognise neurodivergent traits:
Identifying key characteristics, difficulties, and strengths associated with neurodivergence. - To encourage inclusive practice: by learning about common difficulties experienced within the clinic setting:
How to recognise and adjust your practice to emphasise the importance of fostering acceptance; strategies for modifying the environment; and examples of reasonable adjustments for your clients.
- What’s the difference between Autism, Aspergers, and ADHD?
- What do medications do? Does what I offer help?
- Where does trauma fit with neurodiversity? Are they the same thing? Or is it completely different?
- Should I ask if I think someone is neurodivergent?
- Is a diagnosis useful or not? How does that inform how I practice with someone?
- How can I work with someone with ADHD who is very chaotic? – Will it ever change?
- Isn’t everyone ADHD these days – is it just a fad?
